...started his career in 1981 at Lufthansa, where he worked in different management functions in planning and finance as well as in the sales and service organisation and at the Lufthansa Consulting subsidiary. In 1994 he joined the Wildau University of Applied Sciences (near Berlin) as a professor of business administration concentrating on strategic management issues in the service sector, especially air transport. 2005 Biermann formed the Wildau Institute of Technology as an affiliate of the university offering international postgraduate master study programs focussed on aviation management.

...was born in 1950 and studied psychology and business administration specialising in Industrial Organizational Psychology. After his assignments in the central human resource development, the training policy department and the central training task force in the Lufthansa mother company in Cologne, he had been working in the subsidiary company Lufthansa Consulting for about 8 years for internal and external customers. Since 2001 he has been director of Ma¬nagement Training & Consulting at Lufthansa Technical Training. His main focus emphasises on theoretical and applied training activities also regarding the optimization of interviews and other exploration methods in the employee selection processes.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Brützel

...is a Professor in Aviation Management at the International University of Applied Sciences at Bad Honnef. From 1980 until 1984 he served as a research and teaching assistant at the Chair for General Business Administration and Banking of Cologne University. From 1984 until 1994, Dr. Brützel worked with Lufthansa in finance, accounting and controlling as well as within the line organization. In 1994 he joined LTU International Airways as a Managing Director. From 1998-2002, Dr. Brützel worked with A.T. Kearney International Management Consultants as Principal of the European Transportation Practice and Director of Aviation Business. In 2003 he started his own consulting firm, recent assignments included projects with airlines, airports and with air navigation service providers.

He was a member of the executive board at Lufthansa responsible for marketing in route planning and later became head of the German class lottery in Berlin. After his retirement he shares his experience as a lecturer at several universities, teaching for example Management Ethics to young aviation managers in the WIT-MBA programme.

...is a lawyer well-known as one of the leading experts in aviation law in Europe. He had been an assistant lecturer of public law and aviation law at the Federal College for Public Administration before he was appointed to a professorship there in 1985. In 1991 he got the admission to Attorney at Law (New York). From 1992-1998 Prof. Giemulla has been working as a consultant of the Russian Government in the area of reshaping of Air Law and Aviation Administration. Since 2000 he has been a lecturer for Aviation Law at the Technical University of Berlin.

Since 1996 he is an active member of VC - Vereinigung Cockpit, the German pilots union, German ALPA and IFALPA. Mr. Harter is chairman of the VC Qualification and Training Working Group and IFALPA HUPER as well as a member of a pilot-orientated ICAO committee.
