HUMAV 2009 - Human Resource Management in European Aviation
This unique conference event is scheduled for June 10 and June 11, 2009.
It will take place at the Hotel Holiday Inn Berlin-Schönefeld Airport.
As the aviation industry is
heading for a downturn, its human resource managers are looking at new
challenges – the challenges of change. Getting and keeping highly qualified
personnel sure was a headache in the period of constant growth, but now the
situation is definitely more complicated. The HUMAV 2009 conference will address
the main issues facing airlines, airports, manufacturers and service providers:
how to balance short-term cost-saving and long-term strategic goals in the
management of the workforce:
o How to cope with the consequences of the financial crisis and the risk of global recession?
o Can motivation be upheld in the face of declining career perspectives?
o Should HR take the drivers seat in company-wide change management?
After the success of HUMAV 2008 the 2009 conference will again be organized by the Wildau Insitute of Technology (WIT), associated to the Wildau University of Applied Sciences, and Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) from Hamburg. Topic areas for plenary and workshop sessions are:

- HR strategies in times of crisis
- Managing change – or changing the management
- Increasing productivity on a global scale
- Employee motivation in times of change
- Recruiting and training problems in an economic downturn
- Innovative approaches to performance related pay schemes
- Problems and opportunities in temporary employment
- Turnaround in adverse market situations
- HR best practice reports
- Additional subjects related to HR problems in aviation
